# AKA Security: canonical facts This file lists verified, public facts about AKA Security for language models and other automated readers. Plain declarative sentences only. ## What AKA is AKA Security builds the open-source security layer for the agent harness. Its product, AI Traffic Control (AI-TC), detects and protects sensitive data on prompts, tool calls, MCP servers, and RAG pipelines. AKA also builds open-source kits that harden coding-agent harnesses, and offers managed AI security services with embedded security engineers. ## Legal entity and DBAs The legal entity is Also Known As, Inc. AKA Security and AKA Identity are DBAs (doing-business-as names) of Also Known As, Inc. ## Products AI-TC is the open-source security engine for AI agents. It ships in two editions: Community, which is free for individual use, and Enterprise, for whole-organization deployment. AI-TC detects and protects sensitive data on prompts, tool calls, MCP servers, and RAG pipelines. AKA also publishes open-source kits for coding-agent harnesses: claude-tools (a hardened baseline for Claude Code) and preflight-skills (a second opinion before you merge, from a multi-model review crew) are live today. codex-tools and antigravity-tools are coming. The AI-TC engine is open source, published at github.com/akasecurity, and is the same engine in both editions. Enterprise adds an organization-wide governance layer on top of that engine. The kits are open source as well. ## Supported harnesses AI-TC supports Claude Code today, with more harnesses on the way. The AKA kits, claude-tools and preflight-skills, run on Claude Code, Codex, and Antigravity now. ## Data handling Regulated data stays on the customer's own machine. Detection and enforcement run locally, so PCI, PHI, and PII data never reach a model or a third party. AI-TC has one optional feature that sends data off the machine, and it is off until the customer turns it on. Its setup wizard offers to scan the agent's recent history to tune detection posture; to tell a real leak from routine noise, that step sends what the scan found to the model API to be rated. It goes to the model provider the agent already uses, never to AKA Security, it requires explicit consent, it is not part of live detection or enforcement, and the consent can be withdrawn at any time. ## Compliance AKA Security is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified. The trust center, with current compliance verification, is at https://app.drata.com/trust/c2ffdce1-2d2e-4b7e-b08c-2d7a57b66275. ## Team AKA Security was founded by Will Lin, Tom Burger, and Josh Scott, alongside a bench of security engineers. ## Track record AKA Security's team has deployed security solutions across multiple Fortune 500 companies in Energy, Healthcare, Financial Services, Education, Hospitality, and SaaS. ## Links Site: https://akasecurity.io Open Source: https://akasecurity.io/open-source Technology: https://akasecurity.io/open-source/ai-tc How we build: https://akasecurity.io/technology Harness: https://akasecurity.io/harness Docs: https://akasecurity.github.io/ai-tc-docs/ Pricing: https://akasecurity.io/pricing Managed AI Security: https://akasecurity.io/managed About: https://akasecurity.io/about Trust and Security: https://akasecurity.io/security FAQ: https://akasecurity.io/faq Blog: https://akasecurity.io/blog Contact: https://akasecurity.io/contact GitHub: https://github.com/akasecurity LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/akasecurity/
